How To Bring Your Navajo Knit Into Spring

When Spring arrives a big part of me is eager to get out and snap up some fresh new wardrobe bits and pieces but another part of me feels sad at having to pack away my trusty Winter knits. Luckily (however you look at) for us UK bloggers, Winter items sometimes get dragged into our Spring looks because, quite frankly, it's too bloody cold not to.

So in a sense I'm glad of those cooler days when I can resort to my favourite knitwear. This navajo cardigan I found last year and I love its kind of wacky but boho feel. I was getting bored of wearing it with skinny jeans and found it quite hard to style in general. For this look I wanted to create a sort of boho/festival look so I went for this lace crochet vest top ala Vanessa Hudgens and the pinstripe denim shorts. The tights are both a practicality and I'm not really into baring my legs. The suede mocassins and tan satchel round off the boho/western theme.

What's the one Autumn/Winter item you really miss during Spring and Summer?

Blue Jeans

I'd been after a pair of blue skinnies in this colour for a while, so when I found these in New Look for just £19.99 I couldn't pass them up. They're a little loose on the ankle but I think I'm going to bust out the needle and thread to sort that out.

Spring started out so nicely but this was a cold day. I love this leather jacket, It's a soft, kind of matte leather and I found it in Primark years ago for £25. A total bargain because the leather has such a nice finish but I find there is never the right time to wear it. While it goes with everything it's kind of too warm for Spring but not warm enough for Winter. These are third world problems people.

Edgy Office & Carrie Bradshaw Hair

Apparently I power walked into work the day I wore this, although that was more down to the fact that it was 4 minutes to 9 and I wanted Gaga tickets (which I didn't get *sad face*). Still, this does have a bit of 'power' to it, in a way. I think it's the necklace/collar combo.

I looked up a way to make Carrie Bradshaw hair and the technique I used requires no heat at all. If you want to know how to do it, let me know. I love how much extra a different hair style can bring to a look and I'm still working on 'getting good' at hair. My issue is always trying to make mine bigger or just to look like there is more of it. I really badly need to get my roots done actually...

Frankie Says Relax

Say hello to my new Frankie Says Relax tee. I got it on ebay here and hacked off the sleeves, collar and some of the length to make it fit a little better. I'm not one of those people to buy band t-shirts just because they look cool, I just think that's stupid. Frankie Goes To Hollywood aren't my favourite band or anything but I can comfortably say Relax is a T-une and I like a bit of Two Tribes, therefore equalling the right to wear the tee.

I decided to go for quite an 80's look all round here, minus massive hair. I've been looking for THE denim shirt for my wardrobe and I found this one at H&M. I picked up one a few sizes too big because I wanted it to be oversized (and actually it was the only one there). The first time I wore this shirt out I had a very close call involving a donkey and its belief that denim is, in fact, grass. I'm giving that donkey the benefit of the doubt because if he did know my shirt was not grass there could very easily be a GBH claim to be made.

My shorts are a kind of light pinstripe denim which is a material I love and they're also high waisted which I'm all over right now.

Oh and please excuse my orange face, it would seem the lighting wasn't great that day. I don't really look like human Fanta.

Thrift Find

Just a little post to feature my new shirt that I found in a charity shop for a grand total of £1. It's a bit on the big side but I like things oversized and I couldn't really go wrong for a pound. What caught my eye was the contrast down the middle with the buttons and this is matched on the cuffs but you can't see because I rolled them up.

What Happened In March

Spring and 'that time when I was nearly eaten by a donkey'.
Amazing sunset over Gloucester with the Cathedral to the left.
Sticky toffee pudding at Whetherspoons. Friday lunch at Rene. Gloucester vs Exeter game. The start of the incredible weather.

One of Big Daddy's flock.
First beer garden cider of 2012 (note darkness - the clocks hadn't quite changed). Massive cookie for the winners of our work treasure hunt team building day.
BALLOONS!
We filled our living room with 600 balloons for our housemate's birthday.
Gourmet burger shaped sustenance for the day after balloon-gate. The sadness that is 600 balloons murdered.

So now that I've upgraded from my fakeberry to a HTC I have been papping away which means, life pictures! I know, I can basically hear you rejoicing.

This was what I got up to in March, a highlight was definitely the balloon pit. It took us pretty much all day to blow them up with a couple of hour breaks to save us from passing out. Some of our friends turned up to do hour shifts throughout the day, which was nice!

If you're inspired to do the same you can find the balloons on ebay, we spent £30 and it filled our living room/kitchen pretty well and it's a big room. Top tip, don't over-inflate the balloons unless you like incredibly loud noises. My housemate was stood outside, one of the balloons burst, I screamed and a passer-by jumped with a look of 'did someone just get shot?!' on his face. Lolz.
