Fishtail Plait

They say black and brown should never go together. Well as you can see, I'm a maverick.

I kind of look at this outfit and think, 'Yeah, looking a bit French farm girl from the war.' I actually have no idea if this is accurate, it probably isn't.

I got this dress from ASOS in the sale ages ago for £15. I love it, love the back detail, love the length, love the material - it was quite simply, a magical buy. It's so easy to wear anytime and can be dressed up or down. Dress versatility is extremely important to me, trust me, you won't find me buying party dresses that can't also be worn in the day. The ONLY thing I haven't figured out is wearing it with tights but I can assure you, I'm working on it.

Fishtail braids are something I lean towards when my hair is bordering needing a wash. They're so easy but are just that little bit more special than your average Joe plait. Normal plaits can do one.

P.S. Sometimes I get a bit snap happy when doing outfit posts, maybe I'll start posting them instead of leaving them to die on my laptop...

Ethnic Summer

I bought this high neck top a while back since it seemed to be the top of the season but I made a fatal error. In my poor state at the time of buying I sent back the ASOS version in favour for the cheaper eBay one and now I am blighted with see through top.

Schoolboy.

I do really love the style but next time, I won't be scrimping then maybe I'll keep my dignity.

Loving the maxi skirts when the weather is hot and these mirrored sunglasses are one of my favourite recent Primark finds. The ethnic necklace is from a souk in Marrakech. It took my very best haggling to get it to come home with me but how annoying is it when some of the little doo-dahs flip underneath? Very annoying.

Stripes & Denim

Is anyone else dreaming of summer? It's so bladdy cold at the moment it literally takes me around 14 minutes just to get out of the house. Ironically I really enjoy winter clothes. Layering up and adding in lots of textures in hats, scarves etc while trying to work in my summer clothes to get the most out of my wardrobe. I do really enjoy winter clothes, I just hate being cold. Meh.

I talked about layering in my last post and it seems I was at it again here. Layering a blue chambray dress with a striped jumper feels quite classic, especially with brown accessories. The rest is all a matter of need, snug beanie, faux fur collar and my I-cannot-leave-alone oversized boyfriend jacket.

How are you combating the cold weather?
