Pink Coat

I know I'm about 4 years late but I wanted a pink coat for ages, so when I found this one in Primark for £25 it was a no-brainer, as they say. I've been finding, in my old age, that I opt much more for neutral colours, so it's nice to get a bit of colour in my life in something other than lipstick.

Trainers are another thing that I basically live in. Seriously, if I could wear them to bed like my little brother used to do with his cowboy hat, I would (just joking, shoes in bed would be gross.) Santa brought me a very exciting new pair of Nike's for Christmas and I treated myself to a simple black and white Karrimor pair last week. In total I think I have six pairs of proper trainers and that's not including these Reebok's or Converse or NUTTIN! I have a very real problem but seriously comfortable feet, so, swings and roundabouts.

Layered Shirt

Revived my camo jacket of 2012 for this outfit - I don't believe in banishing items to the back of the wardrobe from season to season and weirdly, I find this jacket really versatile.

Still absolutely loving the leather joggers, they're such a nice change from jeans. I was worried they'd be a bit stifling in warmer weather but I haven't noticed any problems yet - phew!

Leather Joggers

I got these leather joggers for Christmas and I love them. They make me feel how I imagine Kanye West feels most days.

I jest but they are pretty sick. The only problem I've got with them is that they're a little short and in particularly warm rooms one can get quite the sweat on. This isn't natural leather after all but I love how they look. I even have big plans for leather trouser based going out outfits, so be prepared.

The boots were a Christmas present too (to myself). I was after a pair of monochrome contrast boots in forever. The Missguided ones I was coveting sold out so when these appeared in River Island I snapped them up.

I am seriously loving leather in all forms at the moment. I got these, a pair of boots, a leather pinafore and leather shorts for Christmas, so I guess that means I hate cows.

Just joshing, it's all faux.

What were your best Christmas presents?

Daytime Sequins - The Last Blog of 2013

So the eagle eyed among you will have spotted that I'm not wearing actual sequins, just a sequin illusion. Still, I like a good contrast and daytime sequins is the best kind, especially for the festive season.

Being the last blog post of 2013 it feels right to wear a bit of glam, particularly because my great plans to welcome in the new year consist mainly of sitting on the sofa with a curry. Either way, it's New Year's Eve and you've got to wear a bit or sparkle, even if that means teaming with stomach-expansion trousers (leggings) whilst spilling tikka masala down yourself. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Check or Tartan

Tartan and check is having a right old moment in fashion right now. I'm not quite sure if this shirt falls into the tartan or check category but I already had it in my wardrobe, so I'm loving life basically.

The dress I'm wearing is that well known drape back number from InLoveWithFashion but not being one to confine certain styles to specific situations, I'm rocking it for a daytime look. It's all about the layers at this time of year so chucking on a shirt over the top makes it work for day and then I can whip it all off for party time!

Or something.

The denim jacket is vintage Levis that I found in Barcelona (damn, what a hipster I sound) and it's so massive that it's perfect for winter because I can actually fit jumpers on underneath it. Don't you hate jackets that won't allow for a jumper? The tights are clever built in sock type jobbies that I got from Pretty Polly. I do really love them but I bladdy laddered them the last time I wore them which is so much more painful when the tights cost more than a pound.

Layering

Hurrah! So I finally figured out how to get my images to be full size and all nicely lined up. The layout had been irritating me for a while, so I think I'm pleased now.

It's been so cold lately layering has been a huge must, especially as the minute you get inside you're boiling hot, so removable layers is always a priority. I don't have a lot of skirts so it's nice to get a little extra something out of dresses worn as skirts. Clever, I know. I also can't get enough of jumpers so I'm making the most of the cold weather now, layering up with my favourite knits.

Double Denim

Double denim is a scary sounding concept but it's not all about stonewash and crimped hair. Technically, this is a double denim ensemble I've got going on here. I think my denim shirt will be a good light cover up for when (if) the weather warms up and it'll go with everything.

I've started the mammoth task of Spring cleaning my wardrobe. I'm trying to be ruthless but apparently I'm emotionally attached to a lot of it.So far I've moved a load out of my wardrobe and it's now hanging up in doorways - a good start! It feels ridiculously good to be able to slide the hangers along in the wardrobe. Before it was a 'heave to one side and ram it in' job which nobody enjoys. I think when it was that full I put off even looking in there so I'd recommend it if you're getting sick of the site of clothes squashed together in a 'can't even breathe' fashion.

Are you having a clear out? Are you a ruthless tidier or a hoarder? 'But I might need it for a wild West fancy dress party.' - you won't.
