Dressing for Unpredictable Weather

I think I talk quite regularly about the weather both on this blog and in real life but I'm British, that's my excuse. As I was saying, the weather lately is in that irritating phase where it has no idea what it's doing. It can't decide if it should be warm, whether it should rain or just throw in every meteorological condition it has to offer. As all fashion bloggers know (and everyone else that lives on the planet) this makes for very difficult fashion choices. One minute I'm boiling hot, the next I'm cold and it's raining.

Night.Mare.

So in this scenario, it's always best to layer up - not too many, just layers that can be removed and not cause too much hassle having to be carried around and so on.

My parka is one such coat that lends itself quite nicely to the battle of Britain (referring only to the weather). It's quite warm but not too heavy and sweat-inducing, plus it has a hood. Come at me rain. It's mild enough at the moment to get a cheeky bit of lower leg out but still very much boot weather. I'm fine with that, boots are probably my favourite feet attire. I do feel like I look a bit like a tree-hugger in the parka but that's fine too, I actually like trees quite a lot.

Layering a Dress

I got stupidly excited at the fact this very summery halter neck dress layered so well over my white sheer shirt and I'm not afraid to say that I will be wearing it again. I needed a jumper for warmth so I added this bottle green number, inadvertently making myself look like I was wearing my old school uniform.

My new (old) favourite necklace came out to play again along with my fave studded boots I bought last year. I'm on the hunt for another great pair of leather boots but when I'm wearing these babies it's like I'd never need another pair.

I really do love Autumn fashion. No massive coat hiding your outfit and it's still just about warm enough not to need tights. Bravo!

Gold Details

Oh hello wind machine.

I'm not one for matching. I really hate earrings and necklace sets (FYI suitors, hah) but I discovered a certain amount of glee pulling this outfit together with numerous gold accents. I used to be such a silver girl but I really, really love gold hardware now.

I was on the hunt for an acid wash denim jacket, a nice oversized boyfriend one and I found this badboy in the men's section at Primark. My only issue with it at the moment is that it's quite stiff so I'm wondering about a home DIY to make it softer. Does that exist?

You may have spotted my new canvas backpack in an earlier post, I rescued it from Republic. I like how it looks quite a lot and when your bag is heavy it is quite nice not all being on one shoulder (despite the staged pose) however, I have found it's a right jeb when you're trying to find your purse etc at the till. Ah well, we all must make sacrifices for fashion.
